What some people did not know is that, although he rocks the lighthouse on camera, he runs a private hair style publication during the off-season. We were able to snag a few pages from this low-circulated magazine and can show you the latest batch of styles he's looking to inspire those that have no idea what to do with their hair or lack thereof. See the preview here.
Everyone needs someone to blame. Especially in sports. We blame the quarterback, the coach, the goalie, the defense, and the referees.
Anything to make a loss or a devastating injury a little less painless, from a fan’s perspective. Think of it as the spoonful of sugar that makes the medicine go down easier, just like Mary Poppins said. Was it Mary Poppins? Well, whatever. Someone said it.
But what about placing the blame on an unbiased, impartial party? One that is simply there to present the facts and has no personal stake in the event itself?
Earlier today, those on the Washington Capitals mailing list received a message saying that those in attendance of the Capitals' February 5 home game against the Toronto Maple Leafs would receive a Nicklas Backstrom gnome. I'm not sure what occasion warrants the giveaway of a miniature gnome, much less one that is supposed to be a Swedish center, but I digress. I wouldn't give this thing to my kid (if I had one). It's a bit creepy.
With the Ravens winning, it looks like there is a debt to be paid. Joel Ward is a HUGE Ravens fan while John Carlson is a tried and true fan of the Patriots. Recently, we learned that there was a bet last year in the locker room that was never paid by Mr.Ward as the Ravens were routed by the Pats in the AFC Championship game a year ago. Here's Carlson's twitter feed before, during, and after the game. Here's Ward's twitter feed before, during, and after the game. As a Redskins fan, I must say one way to get someone to never listen to you about sports ever again is to say "We beat the Ravens! #HTTR". So let's get behind Joel Ward (who already has 2 goals on the year which is 1/3rd of last years goal production) and cheer for the Ravens, hon'
Digging into the archives on Eric Fehr, who recently signed with the Capitals (version 2.0), we came up with a trailer he ended up starring in circa 2010. Fehr hinted at it by dropping a cryptic tweet back in 2010 that linked to the trailer. We have no idea if this was created and hit Sundance or what, but we want to know more.
We all saw this happening, with a false alarm happening earlier this year when Maria was spotted with a ring on the traditional American ring finger. Well, looks like the news is real. Ovechkin and Kirilenko are engaged. To add to the fact today is Black Monday in the sports community, this news only makes those that were eyeing Ovi's love mega depressed. News first broke over on Twitter with IMG president, David Abrutyn@davidabrutyn Congratulations to @ovi8 and @mkirilenko on their engagement!! — david abrutyn (@davidabrutyn) December 31, 2012 Then Ovi posted this photo up on Twitter Then this tweet! ZOMG WEDDING OF THE CENTURY! (Of course we are only playing into the hype of this awesome news in good sensationalist fashion) We are engaged !!!!!!! ))))))))) — Alex Ovechkin (@ovi8) December 31, 2012 Congrats Ovi and Maria! You will make a very athletic family and will hopefully prevent any...
We here at Hockey Shopped are far too familiar with eBay and browsing it for good hockey finds. If you are an old man Knuble fan or apart of the now defunct Knuble Knights, did we find a gem. Click More for details.
In Ovechkin/Nike video news, Ovi likes to help the community back in Russian with old women who drop oranges on cobble stone pathways. In Twitter news, Ovi sent out a message about how he likes oranges. Oh Ovi, you are so Ovi. I like oranges!!!hahaha )))#hockeyisours #teamnike bit.ly/OviBonus — Alex Ovechkin (@ovi8) December 20, 2012 When is the lockout going to be over?
As Dynamo Moscow and the rest of the KHL are on a break, it was only a matter of time before pictures of Ovechkin would surface of his where abouts. Based on sightings, he became chummy at an MMA fight (Battle of Moscow 9) earlier today (12/16) where he was seen sitting with Maria Kirilenko, Joe Rogan and a Russian DJ. Ovi stepped up into the ring during a the event in Moscow, Russia as the result was read donning a Mike Tyson tee. The match was between former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski and Mike Hayes in which Arlovski was declared the winner.
