In Matheiu Perreault's debut game with HIFK Helsinki, since signing with them earlier in the week, he was able to get an assist in HIFK's 4-2 loss to JYP. Wearing his signature 85, Perreault had a TOI of 16:20. Perreault started things off with an assist to open the match at 6:10 but was no help in the long run due to JYP raining shots on goal with 68 on the match. HIFK was only able to get the puck on net 31 times which proved to be fatal. One familiar face to Perreault that was able to notch in 2 goals for the opposing team, Rich Peverley (from the Boston Bruins) who last met during the first round of the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs.

Highlight's of the match (Friday 11/30)

Going into Saturday's match against the Espoo Blues, Perreault had already a point in his pocket and this would prove to be the case for the game on Saturday with 16:52 TOI and 1 assist in HIFK's 4-2 win against the Blues. The home crowd of 7,351 came out to get a glimpse of the Matty P locks. The match saw HIFK put 54 shots on net with the Blues shooting 50. Insanity. To see his set up, the first piece of action in the clip below is when he passes the sauce. Little known fact is the Espoo Blues were the team Mike Ribeiro played for during the 2004-05 lockout. HIFK will play at home Wednesday against Saipa.

Also if you are to look at the schedule over on the league site, you will notice HIFK and SCUBA. We have concluded that they are the same team and HIFK indicates a home match, whereas SCUBA indicates away. If you know why, please let us know!

Bonus: Matheiu Perreault scoring a goal with his face back in February.

Actually Mathieu played already on Friday in an away game against JYP in Jyväskylä. He assisted the opening goal of the game at 06:10, having only been in the country for less than 36 hours. However JYP won the game 4-2 adding the amount of HIFK's consecutive losses to 4 games at that point.
